Dear All,
It doesn't relate to the topic of this post but I have an urgent question (to as many as possible of you) and I didn't know where else to put it. The thing is that I'm planning to apply for a translation grant but I'm not entirely sure what to translate yet. I know this might sound a bit strange but I prefer hearing others suggestions before deciding the issue.
Suppose you were a (concerned) scholar working in a middle-eastern European country and you wanted the general public (as well as academia) to become (more) acquainted with the philosophy of Wittgenstein. Provided that there are no such introductions available in the language at hand, which general intro to W. would you choose to translate? On the top of my own list is Kenny, but as I said, I'd like to hear others' opinions as well.

Here's my opinion:
If you want to translate a 'classic' introduction to Wittgenstein's philosophy as a whole (i.e., an older introduction by a well-known commentator), I think there are really only two options: Kenny's Wittgenstein (1973), and the second edition of Hacker's Insight and Illusion (1986). I would have added Pears's Wittgenstein (1971), but that has recently been superseded by his Paradox and Platitude in Wittgenstein's Philosophy (2006).
Personally, I prefer the Hacker, but I think all of the above would serve your purpose.
If you're interested in taking a look at a new introduction, there's also Severin Schroeder's Wittgenstein (2006).
